Essence of Vietnam
I spent the first five years of my life in Vietnam before moving to North Carolina, but a part of me still longs for the bustling streets, vibrant landscapes, and warm spirit of its people. Through these photos, I aim to share the sense of wonder and connection that Vietnam continues to give me, allowing others to experience its beauty through my lens.

JIA 2025: Photo Project

Journey Into Asia (JIA) is UNC's largest cultural showcase, a tradition that has been celebrated for over 30 years. This annual cultural showcase has celebrated Asian heritage by featuring the talents of our campus and community. This year’s theme, Folktale, highlights the rich diversity of cultural folklore and oral traditions.
About JIA
Each year, the Asian American Association at UNC showcases six members through a unique photo project inspired by the annual theme—this year’s theme being Folktale. Since folktales are often shared with us during childhood, I designed a playful and nostalgic photoshoot concept where participants posed in a cozy blanket fort, surrounded by origami, books, and soft lighting to evoke the magic and wonder of these timeless stories.

Life in Focus
What originally drew me to photography was the ability to capture small, beautiful details within a vast landscape. It taught me to appreciate the beauty in life’s smallest moments, a perspective I strive to carry with me every day.
